Overview
The GA4045 solenoid valve is a 24 volt, electrically-operated valve that turns the water on and off to your humidifier. Attached to the valve is a set of wires, with three different colors. The blue wires are for the electrical current. The red wires are for electronic humidistat connections, and the yellow wires are for humidistat contacts only. Do not connect power to either the red or yellow wires. Preinstalled inside of the valve is a strainer screen, which filters the water before it passes through the valve, catching things like sand and dirt which could otherwise cause blockage. This valve needs to be replaced about every ten years, or more often if it fails and is stuck open or closed.
